Drug Addiction & Alcohol Abuse
Drug and alcohol addiction is more than just occasionally dabbling in a substance. When you find that you need more and more of a substance to get high, have intense urges for a drug or alcohol, or that your life revolves around seeking out and using drugs or drinking, it’s likely addiction has taken hold.
It can be difficult to stop using on your own. A dependence on substances such as alcohol or drugs like cocaine, heroin, prescription medications, methamphetamines, and marijuana can take a toll on your health and your life.
With over 20 years of proven experience, Clearview can help you or a loved one on the path to recovery and well-being.
Finding your way out is never easy. We are here to help. For more than 15 years, Clearview Treatment Programs has provided drug rehab and alcoholism treatment that can help you to end your dangerous dependence on substances and get your life back on track.
What Does Drug Addiction or Alcoholism Look Like?
The symptoms of addiction can take various forms, depending on what substance you are using. However, there are some signs that point to an addiction, regardless of which substance is being used:
- Finding an increased and regular need to use the drug or drink
- Needing more of the drug or alcohol to get the same effect
- Failing to meet life and work obligations
- Engaging in behaviors that you typically wouldn’t, such as stealing, compulsive lying, or driving while under the influence
- Spending an inordinate amount of time and energy to obtain and use the drug or drink
When you do have a dependence on substances, you may be unsuccessful in your attempts to stop using. You may also experience withdrawal symptoms when you do attempt to stop.
Drug use and alcohol abuse often goes hand-in-hand with another mental health disorder, such as depression, anxiety, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). When that is the case, the symptoms of your mental health disorder may be exacerbated by your substance use.
